I have a ram 2020 Laramie and was wondering if anyone knew if I could put 33x12.50 tires on the stock 22" rims with a 2.5" leveling kit? I installed a 2.5" leveling kit on my 2017 ram 1500 and when i went to have my 33x12.50 tires installed the upper a arm wouldn't let the tire go on and i ended up having to install a half inch spacer which then caused a few problems down the road. I would like to not have to get spacers for the tires to clear, I don't mind trimming the wheel well a little if i have to. Or would it be better to go with an 11.50" wide instead of the 12.50?

You should be able to fit 33" tires without a leveling kit from what I understand. Upper control arm hitting sounds like the rim/wheel was hitting and the offset was not enough for the size tires and wheels. This is completely different than the leveling kit. Your stock wheels probably had a low offset so putting a wider tire on hit the control arm. Leveling kit will raise the truck and allow taller tires. Hope this makes some sense. Look in the wheel and tire section of these forums for more information as there is a lot of good stuff in there.

Curious what "problems" you encountered with the .5" Wheel spacer?
