Finally got my new tires installed.

Stock Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 265/65-18 switched to Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 295/70-18.

I’m very happy with the results. Looks much better now. No rubbing whatsoever on stock suspension.

Speedometer is off 4 mph at 60. I’m working on correcting with my Tazer right now.

Update:

Put quite a few miles on and very surprised my gas mileage has stayed virtually the same. With a larger and much heavier tire I didn’t expect that at all. Figured I would lose 2-3 mpg. Maybe the larger diameter and less revolutions per mile evened it out.🤔

No idea. Either way I’m very pleased I made the change.

Great to know! Thank you. Do they stick out past the fenders at all? Did you happen to correct the speedometer?

Flush with fenders. I adjusted the speedometer by changing the tire diameter with my Tazer. It was off 4 mph at 60. Right on now. Did that within an hour after the tires were installed. Took 5 minutes.

Went on a trip to Sedona for the weekend. Did a small off road trail to get to a hiking spot for Hideout Cave Trail. Truck definitely needs a bit more clearance but is a great road trip vehicle. Lots more storage room compared to our 2015 Durango R/t this replaced. Will be going to a larger tire for sure. Maybe Bilstein 5100 on the front. Heres a few pics.

Also MPG was great for a truck. From tucson to sedona and back about 700 miles, including all the short trips in sedona traffic and the crawling speed on the trail we got 20.4mpg. Not bad doing about 80mph on freeway.

look like we are going to remain a small - tight-knit community boys... No backcountry for 2025. Only 3 model years.
I have only seen one other Backcountry truck in the flesh and it was in Tennessee, not North Carolina. My dealer told me that mine was the only one they had sold. These trucks are somewhat special, for a mainstream, mass produced truck.

I wish I could find a ball cap with the Backcountry logo embroidered on or a T-shirt.

They are over my area, it was a good value when they came out. Living in Michigan, you see them often. I know of 5 coworkers plus me that have them.

Almost 2 years and I have still not seen another on the road. Saw one Billet Silver at a local dealer before I ordered mine. Not sure where it ended up.
