The Ram veterans need to chime in, but based on what I'm seeing about these engines. If you have a Hemi you should try and limit your idle time. Reason being the cam has potential to be starved of oil at idle. While driving the oil pressure increases so its not as big of a concern.

I have yet to take possession of my first ever Ram, just calling out an oberservation I'm seeing online. Checkout the Powertrains section of these forums.
I've read that in other parts of the forum- the counterpoint is usually that there are a lot of 5.7-powered cop cars that idle most of the day that have no problems. Can't hurt to limit that though.

Idling absolutely will destroy your fuel economy, because it contributes time at 0 MPG to your average.

now that my license plates finally arrived, I realized I don't have a front license plate bracket. Anyone else?

My MPG has been crap (10-12mpg), and I'm perfectly happy with it. Here is why

1. My commute to the train station takes me through sides streets and stop and go traffic. No hyway trip.
2. I press the gear limiter and set it to 8th gear (turns off mds)
3. My round trip to the train station and homw is 5 miles.

MD added my front plate on my order. I think it was a no charge item, but has to be added for us 2 platers...

I ordered in Ohio, a 1plate state, and mine came with the bracket. Luckily my dealer left it in the bag it came in. I put $2 plugs in the holes.

Same here, I find short trips, with stop and go conditions (particularly in winter), is tough on mpg. My experience is about 10-13 MPG on a little over 4 miles round trip with stops and starts. I have attained 24 mpg (my best) on a straight and flat highway. Like you say perfectly happy. My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 gets 8 - 9 for comparison.

I hear ya....it does like drinking the gas in those situations. I was expecting to notice the mds thankfully it does not bother me at all. The extra .5 mpg it gives is nice!

So what is the general opinion of the tri-fold bed cover? It' just meh in my opinion. I'm seriously thinking about ditching it for something better. I've been looking at the Peragon aluminum cover, like how it folds down into the bed.

I just looked and the Mopar tri-fold cover costs $575. Wow that's a lot for what it is...

It does the job for me. Normally I run a topper but gonna stick with this for awhile. In the past when I did have tonneau covers they were a pain to remove. This one is easy as can be and I really love the tri-fold design. I will say there is nothing like the security of a quality topper though.

It's ok for what it is. Does a decent job of keep my stuff dry but that's about it. I'm looking at something myself that will provide more security.

That's what I was looking for! I'm looking at the same size tire. Glad to know it will
Work.
Same here. As much as I would like to upgrade now I’m gonna use up my stock tires first. Won’t take long since I drive 25-30,000 miles/year. My stock SRA’s on my last two trucks were gone by 30,000 miles. Don’t expect these Wildpeaks to last much longer.
