In part numbers that are color specific, the 7th and 8th value in the part number will always represent the last two values of the paint code.
Maximum steel metallic paint code is PAR. The handle part number for it would be 7KJ40KARAA. The “K” is irrelevant, only the “AR” matters.
Also, be careful when selecting tailgate handles because there are 4 different part numbers for each color. There’s full body color and body color with chrome. Then for each of those, the camera hole is either specific to the regular backup camera, or the backup camera for the surround view system.

I need help please. What would part number for a 2019 Ram 1500 PXJ (non 360) entire handle body color (no chrome) I dont want to make the mistake of getting the wrong part again. Thank you!

Popping into this thread because there are some smart folks in here. I have a 2025 Laramie 1500 which has the mirror projector puddle lights that show “ram” on the ground. I bought an additional light off of eBay and am looking to tap into the tailgate lamp wire from the truck side of the 8pin connector. I plan on 3d printing a housing to make work and project right below the rear bumper. Does anyone know what color the tailgate lamp is on this 2025 Ram 1500 connector (powered tailgate, non MFTG). I called two dealers and mopar parts and they were no help.

@Jimmy07 would you happen to know which wire on the 8pin chassis to tailgate connector is controlling that handle light on my 2025?

On the new tailgate harness for the trailer hitch light, pin 8 on the main tailgate harness 8-way connector is the trailer hitch light driver circuit.
Pin 8 on a pre-2022 of that 8-way tailgate harness connector is a second tailgate latch release driver circuit. This is why the light only illuminates for a second when you release the tailgate on your truck.
You would need to add the wire to the trailer hitch light circuit on the BCM, and run it to pin 8 on that chassis connector for the tailgate harness. But, I’ve already discovered that the trailer hitch light circuit is not active on a pre-2022 BCM. So, basically, you have to tap into some other circuit to get that light to work on a pre-2022 Ram, depending on how you want it to behave.

Hey Jimmy, a while ago I changed my BCM to a 2022 and I was wondering which pin on the BCM connector the second DECKLID/LIFTGATE RELEASE DRIVER is positioned on. On a 2020, I've searched everywhere but haven't found anything. I have some pins to try and see if enabling the pin on the BCM works.
