Which way did you go to tap into power?

I put in the adapter harness with pigtail off the factory trailer harness. I wanted to be able to have clean removal if I ever wanted or needed to. If you don't care about splicing, everything you need is in the trailer harness.

I'm want hardwire mine from inside the cab or under the hood. Plan on wiring it with option of a switch just trying to save time from having to run it all the way to the 7pin. Anyone know what wire it is? Thx
