Leaking fuel - part number needed

Can this fuel line be easily replaced or do I need to have it towed to the dealer? It looks like it connects the fuel rails.

You probably just need a new fuel rail.

@tommyxv you'll need a whole fuel rail. I wouldn't chance splicing in a piece. I can check in my garage later, I might have a 5.7 fuel sitting in there. You can have it for shipping if you want it

I was thinking about splicing it to get it to the dealership but the first open appt is 19 days out!

is it even leaking? most fuel lines in the engine bay are braided, some braided with a rubber hose or rubber surrounding it. looks like just the rubber outer portion is damaged.

Yes, a stream of fuel is shooting out of the hose when it's running.

Just go to any online Dodge Ram parts website and put your Vin number in and then locate the intake manifold and the fuel rail it should give you the part number

That part might not be replaceable, looks like a package deal. Other option is get some approved fuel line tubing and splice in a new piece, but that would be risky unless you know what you're doing

Does anyone know the size of that hose? I need to make a temp repair until my appt with the dealer to replace the entire assembly.

At this point I'd cut out the bad section and bring it to an auto parts store

Do not know the hose size, but know for a fact you have to get the complete fuel rail assembly as that hose in question is not offered separately. As with most fuel hoses, best guess is that it's probably a 3/8" inner diameter.

The digital calibers say the ID is 8mm / 5/16

The hose can be replaced. It's a specialized hose that is heat shrink into the fuel rail barbs. I've seen replacement line before, but don't remember where to find it or how to look it up. If you go to dealer, you will have to buy entire fuel rail. And since it was a rodent that chewed through it's won't be covered under warranty. Might as well just buy a new fuel rail assembly on your own and replace it yourself. Otherwise you will pay full dealer pricing for the fuel rail, plus labor.

That's exactly what I did. Hose and clamps are both rated for use with fuel injector systems.

Our fuel injection system is around 50-55 psi. Everything used to make the temp repair was rated above that.

Earliest appointment I was able to get with the dealer is 2 weeks out. They are going to make the permanent repair with part #53013888AD
