There's nothing more frustrating than encountering foggy weather without appropriate lighting conditions. Not only does it compromise your driving experience, but it also makes driving extremely dangerous with poor visibility. As water droplets diffuse light, your vision of the road ahead quickly diminishes. Therefore, the presence of fog lights is particularly important. OEM halogen lights often fail to meet the increasingly demanding needs of drivers, while our LDplus Switchback can bring you a more comprehensive and safe driving experience.

Why Are Fog Lights So Different?

Front fog lights are set on the front bumper, positioned slightly lower than the headlights. The role of headlights is to illuminate a large area of the road when driving straight. However, the situation changes in rainy and foggy weather. The light emitted by the headlights will produce a dazzling glare because fog is composed of numerous tiny water droplets in the air. When these droplets are illuminated by light, they act like tiny prisms, reflecting most of the light output from the headlights back towards the driver, limiting the driver's visibility and compromising driving safety.
Therefore, we need fog lights. Fog lights are different from headlights in terms of their position and structural design. The purpose of fog lights is to focus the light on a part of the vehicle's front, and their beam pattern is usually a narrow strip rather than a wide banner. The beam is usually designed with a sharp cutoff point at the top, and the actual light is often installed at a lower position, pointed sharply towards the ground. Therefore, fog lights are tilted towards the road, illuminating the road rather than the fog layer, reducing the harm caused by glare reflection to the driver.

What is color temperature?

After understanding the principle of fog lights, we need to further explore the different roles of lights of different colors in the structure of fog lights.
Color temperature is an important parameter used to describe the color of light. It indicates whether the light has a warmer or cooler tone. Color temperature is measured in Kelvin (K). The lower the Kelvin temperature, the warmer the light, leaning towards yellow and red hues. The higher the Kelvin temperature, the cooler the light, leaning towards blue and white hues.
In the market for light bulb products, you often come across parameters like 3000K or 6000K. The high or low value of this parameter is unrelated to its performance and quality; it simply indicates different colors.
● 3000K yellow light penetrates active safety protection to prevent accidents by increasing overall visibility and road illumination in rainy, snowy, harsh weather.
● 6000K white light increased visual field and distance visibility in darkness.
The specific colors corresponding to the numerical values are shown in the following figure.

Advantages of LDplus Switchback LED Fog Light

The concept of color temperature and the different functions associated with different color temperatures have provided us with a deeper understanding of fog lights. Would you think that fog lights must be equipped with a yellow color corresponding to a 3000K color temperature due to their application in rainy and foggy weather? In fact, fog lights can have a broader range of possibilities. Don't overlook the role of fog lights in the dark.
Front fog lights can be used not only in rainy and foggy weather but also in pitch-black nights. When driving on bumpy roads, the front 2-8 meters of the road cannot be illuminated clearly by high beams or low beams due to the different positions of headlights and fog lights, but the road in front of the car can be seen clearly before turning on the fog lights.
Therefore, fog lights are required to have both white and yellow colors for different usage scenarios. Is there such a dual-color fog light available? The Lasfit LDplus Switchback series is exactly that kind of switchback LED fog light. In addition to enriching the driving scenarios with different colors, its efficient switching mechanism has received unanimous praise from users.

1. Two colors, two experiences
Yellow fog lights help drivers drive on roads in snow, rain, and fog. Yellow light has a longer wavelength and better scattering effect, penetrating thick fog and warning oncoming drivers. White light increases visibility and illumination on special roads during the night, adapting to more conventional road needs. The 6000K color temperature of white light can reduce driver fatigue compared to the 3000K yellow light.
Compared to halogen bulbs, LDplus Switchback LED has increased brightness by 400%, which can effectively improve the lighting environment. Whether it's yellow or white, you can experience the driving confidence brought by brightness.

2. Simple operation, one-second switching
The white light is first activated. Simply control the fog light switch to switch the light from 6000K cool white to 3000K warm yellow. The switching is very fast and won't be operated by mistake.

3. Excellent performance, escorting your driving - Product features
The 1.5mm aluminum parts are much thinner than the common parts on the market, which makes the bulb run without producing a shadow area. The 360° freely adjustable light pattern can output bright and concentrated light patterns, achieving the best beam mode. Of course, its service life is also guaranteed. It uses a 35mm 5-piece cooling fan. The integrated compact aluminum design provides better heat dissipation than ordinary plastic design, and the intelligent IC ensures longer and more stable service life, escorting your driving.
