Sadly you’re going to get a yes/ no answer as this is too general of a question. We would need to know all the particulars behind the vehicle total cost. As I always say I matter what deal you get, when you post on a forum someone will always need to one up you .

Sorry...new here. Switching to a ram after 30 years of F150s! The vehicle is 1500 Laramie, 4x4, 5.7 with 3.21 rear, 12’ screen, multifunctional tailgate, leather trim with cooled seats, navigation, bed utility group, Laramie level 1 equipment group, 20inch tires. MVSP 58440.00, dealer reduced 11,500, traded f150 with 134,000 miles, received 16.5k (1.5k higher than ford dealer). Added side rails and tri-fold cover. OTD 47,733...was wondering if this is an average deal...signing papers this weekend...much more comfortable ride than f150 and need that tailgate!

That's almost 20% off MSRP which is a good number to hit, but you went from a price of 30,440 (58,440-11,500-16,500) back to 47,733 OTD. That's 17k in fees and tax.

On my Rebel I went from basically 60k to 51k before trade. My trade was 9k, and I ended OTD with 47k and change. This was in Feb on a 2020, and to get 0% interest I took a 1k higher sale cost.

Thanks...forgot to add 13k payoff on f150 and 2k for the side rails and tri -fold cover.

20% (You got 19.7%) is a good number to shoot for. I got 15, but I am ok with that number based on time of year buying, the truck I got, etc. I had been looking for a year for the "right deal" and never found it.

Don't listen to the guys here saying "Get 25-30% or walk". Those deals are definitely not the norm. Also, if the truck makes you happy and you're ok with the price, does it really matter? After driving my truck for 6 months I still miss my Titan, but I'd also still buy this one at the same price.

Thanks for the response...I am 64 with a 9 year old son..keep his sports items in bed with cover..really like the multifunctional tailgate but have no idea how to gauge current pricing! I will proceed with purchase, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting reamed. The ram certainly is more comfortable but still like the turbos in the f150!

My wife was 53 when she had him lol...I get up at 6:30, see patients all day, pick up son, coach and take care of him, eat dinner at midnight...myself and son are only children...need a quality vehicle because my father is 88 and lives alone 6 hours away..need to be ready if something happens! Again, new here and appreciate any input!

I think its a decent deal. As someone else said; if you get around 20% you are doing fine. My MSRP was $55,530 and I paid $43,500 after incentives; so just about 22%......and I couldn't get ANY more movement from that number despite spending 6 hours at the dealer and initially leaving without a deal as well. Some of these "great deals" that get posted are total BS or they didn't realize they got shafted on a trade or other fees. Good luck with the new truck.

The amount off the new truck seems good. Bought mine last November, msrp of 62,440. Got them down 14,500 and got $500 more for my 15 Silverado then kbb said it was worth. Guess it comes down to extra fees and value of your trade in!

That's good, 25% off is only when they are doing special promotions and right now there isn't enough truck inventory to make that a priority. So 20% is pretty good, especially since most dealers are lacking stock.
