Hello guys.

Just new to the group and i did not found an answer to this in older discussions.
My 2024 Bighorn Backcountry has a rattle/knock on the sunroof. The truck is only 850 miles in the odo.
I believe that is coming from the sliding glass part. I did the calibration and did not change anything. Also, i cleaned the seals and nothing.
The dealer did not found root cause and schedule an appointment to double check in about two weeks.

I'm planning on lubing the seals around the frame and roof.

Any advice would be appreciated

How do you calibrate it?
I hear a knock in mine once in a while…and I thought it was just me…. I looked in all my doors, pockets, back seat thinking I left something rolling around.

Edit.. Found it.

Question from you Fernan… do you ever open your sunroof all the way? If you hit the open after it stops, it’ll actually go even further back. Owned my truck for several thousand miles before I found that out…. Just out of curiosity.

I had this problem on my 2023 Ram Limited. I ended up going to the dealer to get the whole sunroof frame replaced which ultimately fixed it. It was a multiple visit job where they tried lubing the seals which didn't work; then replaced the seals which required new glass because the new seals are attached to the glass; until finally getting the whole frame replaced. It was a pain but the noise finally went away.

Yep… I may be there with you JayC. It’s not often, but annoying and…for a little more than a year old truck still under factory bumper to bumper…time to take it in…

I'm commenting to stay on this thread incase something else comes up. I have a 2023 with a sun roof but I have no issues. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Funny this thread pops up.. mine just started to rattle out of nowhere a few days ago. Getting progressively worse day to day. Thought it may be from the weather change but after inspection cleaning and lube something is definitely loose. Doesn’t happen with the roof open or tilted.

I’m out of warranty and I’m not messing with the dealer for weeks/months. So I’ll tear into it and find a fix. I’ll post back with pics when it’s done. Cant be that difficult.

Yep, looking to see what they say.
Mine, in being very honest…isn’t really noticeable unless it’s slow speed and the radio is barely up.
Is that an excuse? No.
Hasn’t gotten worse, and if I literally have my radio on like volume 4 or more, you won’t hear it or notice it.
I haven’t tried to close the shade to see if it persists… I keep my shade open 90% of the time or more.

Update… once the cab warms up to operating temp, same with shade open or closed. Just had to make a run for work…. Eerily quiet with the radio or the misses…lol.

I echo'ed all the symptoms you have had @dajogejr. It wasn't loud but you only hear it while driving slowly and turning into a driveway (or bump). That scenario, the knock happened 90% of the time. You hear it whether shade is closed or not. The glass in tilt or open mode, you don't hear it. It took about two months of hearing it before I had it looked at. Yes, you have to take advantage of the warranty while you still have it.

I had some ticking sounds as the body flexed or twisted that went away if I tilted the sunroom to the vent position. I applied a thin layer of dielectric grease to the rear edge of the movable roof panel and the ticking sound stopped.
