Key Fob remote start not working

My wife's 2018 Durango won't remote start. Is uconnect subscription required for key fob to work? Her 1 year uconnect subscription just expired but I didn't think it would affect the key fob.

No... Uconnect subscription is not required. I also have a 2018 Durango. All my 1 yr trial subscriptions ran out last October; I didn't renew anything and everything about the key fob works as usual.
