Hey everyone I made an intro thread but haven’t updated in quite a while, might as well make a build thread now.

So I’ve got a 2020 limited etorque, first few mods I did were tint, all weather floor mats, and lowering links. I got pretty disappointed with the lack of pep the truck had especially for how mean it looks all blacked out, so I started thinking about adding a power adder. I wanted a procharger initially but none of the shops around me wanted to actually sell me just the kit, they were charging like 11-12k for install which was robbery. So if a procharger dealer wouldn’t sell me the kit at a fair price I decided to just build my own turbo setup.

My build list for the turbo setup is currently:

Comp CTR 3993s turbo
VS Racing 60mm WG
Tial 50mm BOV
Stainless works 1 7/8” LT headers
FIC 775cc injectors
SRT4 2 bar map sensor w/ adaptor
HPTuners PCM
QTP remote E-Cut after the turbine
AEM wideband O2 sensor
Snow Performance water/ meth injection kit
Treadstone TR6 intercooler
Custom Y pipe for turbo inlet
Custom charge piping

I’ll be updating changes here, for now I’m happy with the setup, but will be opening the motor to beef it up before cranking up the boost. Next phase of my build is a custom air ride setup to get the truck lower, custom wheels, and to install my Clinched wide body kit.

This setup now that I figured out what works is actually pretty easy to make, I’m happy to help anyone who wants an alternative to a procharger. Turbo sounds > procharger sounds anyday.

I'm considering an alternative as well for my '23 G/T. I can get the Procharger, but it's going to be over 15 grand CDN by the time it's all said and done with accessories, PCM, everything. I like that this turbo doesn't really need anything else besides input/output piping. The unit is self contained and doesn't need oil or water lines. I think the two hardest things about going this route would be one, piping (both exhaust and charge) and dyno tuning.

Have you had your setup tuned? What are you making at the wheel?

Thanks for the write up, I'm going to do a little more research this route.

P.S. I've also looked at the Clinched widebody kit, plz post updates as you progress!

Cheers,

Hey sorry I guess I never saw your post, so the initial Dyno tune came back with 468whp/ 556tq or something like that, but probably not what it’s at now because of some changes and issues with exhaust restriction.

Custom tuning of this truck has been by far the biggest unseen challenge and finding someone who knows how to do it properly has been a hell of a problem. Dyno tuning is a fraction of the tuning that needs to be done, most of it will need to be street tuning or remote tuning. I’ve had it tuned 3 times at almost a grand a piece, first 2 tuners didn’t do enough driveability and just ran it in the Dyno, the computer needs to cycle through a ton of points in the map repetitively and plugging in numbers to the PCM and then hitting the Dyno will have the truck run like **** once the computer catches up.

The Clinched kit is collecting dust for now but I wanted to make sure to buy it since they aren’t making the limited kits anymore. I have to do the airbag setup and get wheels before the kit can go on. The airbag setup is like around 2600-2700 for parts alone, then wheels, then wide body install, so much damn money lol.
