Just started to get Service Rear axle lock & service 4wd error message

The last few weeks I started to get a service rear axle lock and service 4wd error message. It only comes on when coming to a stop when the truck is up to temp. As son as you accelerate the error message goes away. and the rear axle lock and 4x4 functions correctly. I scheduled a service appointment for next Wednesday the 21st, This will be the first time I get to try out my Portfolio extended warranty. Ill report back my findings and what the repair consists of. I am glad it happened now and not during the winter where I actually need the 4 wheel drive to work lol

Truck is a 2020 1500 Laramie 4x4 with 77k miles, Hemi with 3.92 rear gear with electronic locking rear diff

11/12/25 Update*** Took the truck into the dealership about month ago to fix this. They ended up finding a broken wire going back to the rear somewhere. While in for the wire repair they did their multi point inspection and found the truck needed a RF CV shaft and that the oil pan had a leak (pan was always very crusty looking when I would change the oil) They fixed the rear, changed the engine oil pan, gasket, pan bolts, Did Oil change (had to because they took the pan off) RF CV shaft and also the output shaft on that side. Total with labor was almost $3300, cost me $134 after the warranty kicked in. This is the first time in almost all the vehicles I've had that the extended warranty actually paid for itself LOL. I still have 50k of warranty left which is nice
