Just installed Borla Touring; Fit is crap.

When I spoke to the sales team about this, they said the early days of the Ram exhausts were made without a jig. I think it was American Muscle that put out a video of how Borla does their exhausts today and all of them use a jig for exact fitment and placement before any welding is done. I guess it depends on the supplier to if some of us got old inventory that was made before they had the jig for our trucks.
The box that my exhaust came in was dated August 2021 and I have bad fitment.

The AFE system is a pain as well. Spent countless hours under the truck to try and align tips + angles.

S type fit perfect. Key is leaving everything loose and connect it all before you go tightening clamps

That's what I did, but there was no adjustment that could be made to make the muffler further from the bump stock or make the passenger tip align without modifying anything. I'm pretty sure the hangers on the muffler are out of alignment, so I'm having a muffler shop do the adjustment since they have the proper tools to do it right.

This is what mine look like after I had a cut and weld done by a muffler shop.

Looks good! Any issues with it moving out of alignment after driving on bumpy roads?

I go to get mine adjusted tomorrow. Hopefully I will have the same results.
It's been about a month since I had them fixed and they are still perfect. This picture was actually taken yesterday.

Be sure the muffler shop doesn't go crazy and charge you a bunch. The guy that adjusted mine used a 4' crowbar and started bending all of hangers until the alignment was perfect. He started at the front and worked to the exhaust tips. My muffler can is now about 3/4" from the frame and the same with the pipe at the bump stop. Took the guy 15 minutes in total.

Well I took it to a muffler shop and didn't get the results I wanted due to the fact that I think there is a manufacturer defect with my system, plus the guy I took it too just wasn't that good. Google reviews showed good reviews, but he just seemed impatient and didn't want to deal with it. Luckily he only charged me 30 bucks to get it somewhat aligned but still dealing with the passenger side not staying where I want it. Really the only fix may be to bend the pipe right before the tip. You can actually see the pipe is out of alignment and bent upwards and no amount of hanger bending will do the trick I don't think. I left a voicemail with Borla to see if I can get it all replaced under warranty.

Scottmoyer, shot in the dark, but maybe we are located near each other and I can use the guy you did. You wouldn't happen to be located in eastern Pa?

Unfortunately not. I used to live in Allentown, but not any longer. The guy was able to adjust my tips with that same crow bar. I think the hangers are the only issue. If they can be bent in the correct position, you're set.

I got off the phone with a customer service manager at Borla and he mentioned there was a manufacturing issue with the touring causing issues with alignment. They offered a replacement or I can return it. I'm torn on what I want to do. Do I want to risk having a similar issue with the replacement or just go back to my stock exhaust for now and figure out what I want to do. Maybe just do a simple B2fab oval muffler replacement (delete)?

Hey Scott, I’m headed to Orlando this weekend to pick up my exhaust and put it on. Which shop did you take it to fine tune the fit?

Ask to upgrade to the ATAK.

The Touring is plenty loud for me. Still debating if I want to get a replacement and risk the same issue or just get a refund and go back to stock for now until i figure out what i want to do.

If those were my only 2 choices I'd get the replacement. It's easy enough to remove compared to the stock setup.

Get the replacement. Then you'll have 2 systems and a shop somewhere can make it work for you.

If you need any adjustments, which I hope you don't, I went to Hi Flo mufflers on the corner of 441 and Sheeler Rd, Used to be Zych's Service center.

Get a Replacement. Just like anything that’s mass produce there’s always defects in some runs.

I found an older post with someone that had the same issue on a '20 and contacted Borla and they sent a whole replacement. We'll see what they say tomorrow.
i installed Borla S type with zero issues. Fit was perfect

I leaning this way, but still hesitant about the fitment. I think I will have to return the old one, but not sure yet. Right now they only want to send me a new muffler and not the tips, however, I told them the muffler shop did some hanger bending on my existing tips, so if I go the replacement route, I'd prefer new tips, otherwise, I'll probably have fitment issues yet. We'll see what they say.
