Probably residual oil from oil change that never got cleaned up and wind whipped around when driving

CV axle grease? Check the boots really well on that axle to make sure they aren’t torn.

I think you're right about it being a cv leak. I had my dealer pop in my 5100s for me like 2 weeks ago and then they took it to get it aligned as well and I see the metal ring if popd/broken 😒

I also noticed now that they didn't even clean up the break wires. It's just dangling 😒. Going to take it back to them and see what's going on.

Not good, looks like the band clamp came off for some reason. The axle should not have had to be removed for the shocks, and you’d think the alignment guys would have saw it so maybe it just happened.

It’s risky, but if you didn’t lose much grease you might be okay with a new clamp and be good to go. If the joint has run dry or the remaining grease has been contaminated you may run into issues down the road with clicking noises or cv joint failure in an extreme case.

Yeah. Truck at dealer and should be done tomorrow. I asked whether or not we need another alignment and was told I shouldn't need one. I wouldve though cv axle replacement would atleast req another one but I guess not
