There are lots of threads on replacing tires and going to other brands (BFG KO, Nitto Ridge Grappler, may General Grabber ATx) and different sizes (275/65, 305/55, 295/60, etc.)

Along the way, I found this video made last year from someone who appears credible. Be warned, it is 15 minutes long.

I love the Falken Wildpeak AT3W, not to be confused with the tire that comes on some Rams as they are not the same. The wet weather and winter weather traction is incredible and I’ve ran Toyo , Nitto and every other all terrain tire out there. We put a set on my sons Tacoma a couple years ago and the winter traction of that truck with those tires is what sold me. Running them in 275/60/20 on my Ram now.

The A/T3W seems similar in design to the Nitto Ridge Grappler and General Grabber ATx, although any real comparison needs hands-on experience. Which is why I liked this video.

Do we know the differences between the retail A/T3W and A/T3W A that Tire Rack sells as the OEM replacement?

In the picture, Falken A/T3W A, Falken A/T3W, General Grabber ATx, and Nitto Ridge Grappler. The three on the right all look like current generation, with the Nitto more of a M/T-A/T hybrid. The OEM tire looks as if it is from a different or earlier design.

How did you choose the 275/60 (33x11.0) vs a 275/65 (34x11.0), 285/60 or 295/60 (33.5x11.5 more or less), a 305/55 (33x12.0), or the OEM 275/55 (32x11)? What did you do for spares?

The tread pattern is different when comparing the one that comes on certain rams and the ones that are for sale retail. The reinforced sidewall and soft rubber tread that somehow lasts many miles are two big selling points to me. The soft rubber tread is what I attribute to the excellent grip in wet, icy or snowy roads. Kind of reminds me of Bridgestone Blizzak winter Tires that are designed to only be used during winter because they’ll wear out so fast on hot and dry roads but the Falkens wear great. I went with 275/60/20 just to not sacrifice too much in performance and economy, not a lot of 33” tires available in 20” wheels.

I ran these on my last Ram and just sized up on my 19 Ram North Edition. OEM was 275 55r20 p rated and I went to 275 65r20 lt. Had to go lt in that size. Also went with 20x9 -12 offset wheels. I really like the Falken for the price and triple peak rating. I run GY Duratracs on my Jeep and find the Wildpeaks ride similarly, are great in snow and rain, but with less road noise. The p rated are a slightly softer compound and are supposedly a bit better in ice and snow than the lt.
Over the years, I've run; Grabber AT2, Toyo Open Country AT II, BFG KO2, Duratracs and Wildpeaks on both Rams and Jeeps. All are great, but I think the least road noise goes to the Falkens.

All of the three shown come in 275/60-20. They differ in some having 295 and some not. Also in which are available as Metric and which only as LT. And if the LT is range C or E. People are raving about all three...just no back-to-back tests. I probably should have put the BFG K02 on the list.

Same that replacing the tires...with the original size of 275/55s...is an additional $1000+ when the dust settles.

The Rebel comes with 275/70-18 tires, which are 33.2" tall. Same height as yours.

BTW, what did you do about the spare, which is probably a 32" 265/65-18 from the factory?

If directed to me, I left the spare stock. Free Roadside Assistance and a flat bed. Way too dangerous these days with all the distracted driving to change a tire IMHO. Did it once--not wanting to play that game again. Not my trail rig-my Jeep is for that and it has a full size spare.
