Curious if anyone can tell me what I am hearing. I can park somewhere, turn off the truck and sit inside. Withing a minute or two I hear a weird mechanical sound on the driver side that comes from behind the dash, like pedals are adjusting or something. When I go to start it, I push the brake pedal (further down it seems) and then hit the start but I have to push it twice. It always starts but I am curious what that sound is. If I can remember the next time I get out, i will stand by the truck to see if it does it as well.

We won't see these vehicles resurrected on Roadkill in the future

There are little people that keep your truck running. What you hear is them punching the clock at the end of their shift.

Long ago when our daughter was young, as part of a bonus my boss included an old Honda that he used when he flew into town. It became my wife's car and there was food and trash everywhere. Sure enough it eventually got mice. I couldn't help but laugh. She did start to try keeping it in better condition and even asked me to fashion a "french fry remover" that she could use to get the ones that fell between the seat and center console. When we finally bought her a new car for the first time, I was convinced it would be a trash car complete with mice. However, to her credit every new car she has had since then has been kept clean and in immaculate condition.
