My stock tire size is 285/45/22. I’d like some more sidewall on my new tires. I have stock suspension on a Laramie crew cab 4x4. Am I able to install 285/50/22 or even 285/55/22 tires on my truck with out rubbing it anything? I’ll be using the same stock rim as well so the width and wheel size numbers stay the same. I believe the 50 is 1 inch taller and the 55 is 2 inches taller. Going with some Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

The image shows my truck with Nitto ridge grapplers 285/45/22, stock size. I want to go with the same but taller side wall.

I put 285/55/22 Toyo AT3 on my limited and they fit without any modification to the suspension. There is no rubbing at any height but some say they have rubbing with this size. Toyo is about 34.3 in diameter and the ridge looks to be about 34.6 so slightly taller. If you want to ensure there is no rub the 285/50/22 may be your best bet but if your willing to modify the wheel wells a bit you could probably get away with the 285/55/22.
