I run maps and Apple Music at the same time on split screen
^^^^^ THIS!
Since the onboard maps are 4th Qtr 2017 - with no new maps on the horizon. This in and of itself is UTTER BS. My Honda Pilot ran Garmin Maps for it's GPS - updated at least every 6 months (free for 5 years). And the interface is kind of GARBAGE, clunky and nearly unusable. The GPS in the truck is a case of SWUNG ON AND MISSED.
Google Maps (for all it's shortcomings) is head and shoulders above most (Apple maps, while better in IOS13, is still spotty). I don't care for Waze myself - childish interface. I also run Co-Pilot on my tab & phone.
Google maps in satellite view works good. Tap screen, press microphone, ask for something and it finds it (90+% of the time) - traffic is good/excellent (re-route could be a little better). I like that you can do a route on your phone, out of the truck, and it picks it up once connected.
Split screen is very cool (as opposed to smaller screens). I usually run itunes - I have a ginormous music collection that's mirrored in the cloud (+ Apple Music), so I rarely listen to XM (prefer my choice of music without commercials - though I found a lot of "new artists" on Pandora by listening to specific artists and hearing others from that "genre").
The only thing I listen to on XM - is The Patriot Channel (conservative talk radio) - so unless they give me some GREAT DEAL, I won't be renewing when the free stuff is up.
I got my Limited because of many of the cool/convenience features that were standard - plus the dealers usually "load them up" with ALL the options. Very few I would have passed on, had I "build & ordered" mine and waited for delivery - luckily I found just the one I wanted on a dealers lot - actually - the ONLY ONE in all of Fl with the color choice AND the MFT (which I sometimes regret).
All in all - I will likely NEVER USE the built in Nav, especially if they don't UPDATE THE MAPS (it should be CRIMINAL to deliver a vehicle in 2019, with maps from 2017).
But I appreciate the HUGE REAL ESTATE the 12" allows me to operate in - especially since I don't have to put my readers on to see it. If I could get google maps to run in the full 12", I'd be in HEAVEN.
The PITA is that CarPlay requires a hardwire connection, which makes it clunky and unnecessary to use the "RamCharger" wireless charging. I use a BlueParrot Headset for calls most of the time (leftover from my "trucker days" - nothing beats a BlueParrot) so I NEVER USE bluetooth anyways. The handsfree calling is fair/good (as far as folks telling me they can hear background noise) - but I can run the all the windows down/sunroof open - and all you can hear is ME on the BlueParrot (I am not an employee or paid spokesperson for BlueParrot - LOL).
YMMV...
