Idle issues

Hey guys new to this platform, I have a 2021 ram 1500, 5.7 hemi and whenever im sitting idling for more than 7-9 minutes, the truck starts to want to over heat. Thermostat is new, coolant is full in both reservoir and radiator….if you can provide any feedback that would be great

Welcome to the forum. I’m guessing your fans aren’t working? Did you check them? They should be synced to go on depending on your coolant temperature. Good luck with resolving the issue.

Thanks guys I checked the fans and the fans are working properly, I did find a tiny pinhole size leak in the hose so I replaced that but it’s still having the same issue

What do you consider "want to overheat"? The fans don't turn on until 220ish degrees. Anything under 230 coolant temp is "normal".

Wonder if you have air in the system. That's a possibility. I've had that in the 3.6 Jeep engine before.

Did you purge the system?
