In my area we have far more frost and ice than snow. Scrapers like this have an extendable brush but if you try and use the scraper your dealing with the metal part ahead of the brush. So what I'd like to find is one that focuses on the scraper having reach. I don't need a brushAmazon.com: MATCC Car Snow Brush Removal Extendable with Ice Scraper for Car Windshield and Foam Grip Detachable Snow Mover for Car Auto SUV Truck Windshield Windows Model MSB002: Automotive

How do you get it secured to the roofline above the window? My reach is too short to reach above the windshield on this truck to secure such a cover. I tried something similar to that in the past (plastic cover with magnets) and all it managed to do was let freezing rain go between it and the windshield, freezing it in place. Here's something you might want to consider. I use it and it saves a ton of hassle. https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-1752...p/B00F5VX3U8/?tag=td-windshield-covers-pcr-20
I use something like that, but a different brand. I bought it from Costco. Works great for snow, frost, ice, and even dew. Here's something you might want to consider. I use it and it saves a ton of hassle. https://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-1752...p/B00F5VX3U8/?tag=td-windshield-covers-pcr-20
The one I have has elastic that you stretch over the side mirrors, as well as separate covers for the mirrors, but I don't use those because of the heated mirrors, and I'm too lazy to put them on LOL. The elastic straps stretch the cover tightly over the windshield. There's no need to attach anything at the top of the windshield. The one that Rick recommended has a different method of attachment, so I can't speak to those. The only issues I've had with mine is when there's a lot of wind it can lift the cover. That's only happened once that I know of though. It takes pretty high winds to do that. And once the wind subsides the cover settles back into place. Here's a link to the Costco version. Looks like they've revised the method of attaching, and now includes a strap that you close in the door. That would probably help a lot with the wind issue. How do you get it secured to the roofline above the window? also i never let the foam edge go all the way to the paint so it never physically touches it
it also reaches across windows , bed cover, ect very nicely
the lights are gimmicky i know but it was cheap lol
Agreed that this is a good design. They will be on sale at Wally World soon. I paid $10-15 last year for this model in Blue. It lasted all season and broke in the spring. So a yearly purchase I guess. Anything should work in your neck of the woods. I drove home to Maine through the NC/VA, MD, PA mountains in a snow/ice event once after buying an Expedition EL in Troy. You folks get quite a bit of icing. I remember it well because the windshield washer fluid froze at the higher elevation and stained my headliner on my way home. Enjoy the snow.....uuugh, I do not want to think about it yet.Amazon.com: MATCC Car Snow Brush Removal Extendable with Ice Scraper for Car Windshield and Foam Grip Detachable Snow Mover for Car Auto SUV Truck Windshield Windows Model MSB002: Automotive

I like this for the foam end, for removing excess snow. The ice scraper end will work for light frost, but probably won't do much with the ice we get here quite a bit. But I have a good scraper with a brass blade for that, that I bought years ago. Just have to be careful near paint with that. Scrapers with plastic blades don't last long for me.DO NOT USE THOSE BRUSHES ON THE PAINT PLEASE!!! it will scratch the crap outta it

I moved from Tucson in August of 1990. The last winter I was there it snowed something like 5 times. Shut down every freeway overpass in the city. But the temperature got down below freezing a lot more than 5 times that year. I worked the graveyard shift, so my drive home was at 7 am. I spent many mornings scraping my windows with my security badge because I couldn't find an ice scraper anywhere in town LOL. For the youngsters here, that was before the wonder of the interwebs existed. You guys and your "ice." Ugh. I'm still researching the AC Hack so I can get through the "winter."![]()

I can't make that claim. Santa is everywhere, especially in December. At the mall, in front of the grocery store, in parades, the library. Too many witnesses to be able to back that up.Wait you're telling me there was a time where the interwebs didn't exist?? What's next, Santa isn't real?
