Man does pot smell so much different since I was a teenager. Well I have a 2019 Ram Rebel and it smells like weed. I have seen this posted before yet see no answers. Anyone get an answer as to why or am I going to have to carry around this thread in case I do get pulled over ?

Mine smelled nothing like that, must be some dealer techs getting thier groove on at the dealer

Many have said the same as mine did the same when off showroom new. I’ve yet to find the stash but the smell has gone. Just now smells like leather in a high end vehicle.

I only noticed it on the outside and not on interior. I read somewhere on the forum that it was the belt for the etorque. The odor went away after 500 miles or so for me

Ahhh, I did have a smell outside truck when every new. Idk about weed smell , was def different. That has past quickly as well
Edit: I agree had to be with etorque set up

My brother in law had the smell and he doesn’t have an etorque... It seems to be certain build dates that have it. Oct-Nov I think

Mine had the faint burn-off smell for about 100 miles, built Mid January. It's gone now.

500 miles and it is still there, Thought they might be using my rebel as a mule however it was so well hidden that I could not find it. New question. What is the gear limit button with +/-. Cannot find it any where. Next ? Where you can go from 2 to 4 wheel drive there is a button "n" button with ^ above it. Whats it do ?. This is my 1st Ram and it was also salesman's 1st sale and knew nothing about features.

Welcome, glad you are aboard. Looks of good peeps and info hear. I’ve yet to find my stash as well.
Gear limit is what it called. If you push it 3 it will only shift up to 3rd gear. Peeps also use it- up to 8 to remove mds system from activating. N- putting the transfer case into neutral which will not deliver power to any frt or rear wheels.

glad I'm not the only one that thought they were smelling really bad weed hahaha

My Ram also had this smell, I believe it comes from the tire black coating they use at the dealership. Went away after about 2 months!

I had a similar smell coming from the exterior of my truck for the first 1500 miles or so and though I was either crazy or some of the young guys at the dealership were taking their "breaks" near the truck prior to my purchasing it.

Good to know I'm not crazy!

I to have a smell inside truck has 1000 miles on it smell is still here. my wife says it smells like a casino...its like someone sat in the truck a smoked a whole pack... I've gotten used to but when my wife gets in she smells it right away??? She thinks it may be the seat cloth?? I'm gonna change out the cabin filter yo see if it helps..

I had my truck washed just the other day and one of the guys drying it asked me if I ran over a skunk before I brought it in? every now and then ill get a whiff of the weed/skunk smell......hopefully it goes away soon. 2019 rebel with 1,400 miles, no etorque.

On a hot day, my Durango smells the same .. and I have owned it since it came out. I can only guess it is either:

1 - the leather itself (not being the REAL leather like the Limited / Big Horn)
2 - the protectant the dealer put on the seats when I bought it
3 - glue or something from the factory that emits fumes as the heat goes up
