The auto tilt of the side view mirrors can be very useful if the manufacturer and the owner set it correctly.
My 2006 Silverado was outfitted with 2006 Tahoe mirrors. I had the drivers side set to remain in place, while the passenger mirror tilted down and in so I could see the parking line clearly. I don't use the cameras to back up. So, it was actually a decent feature. But, I also know that manufacturers don't allow you to make the same adjustments GM did. My BMW would allow for tilt or no tilt. If I chose tilt, both mirrors tilted down and I couldn't adjust how far they tilted, so they were useless on the BMW.
