Ok Gents,
I have had a couple times where my AC would put out warm air. It would do this about once every dozen time of shut off and restart. If it puts out warm air, I can turn the temp setting all the way up. It will put out very hot air. Turn it down to low and the temp drops, but does not get cold.
It has on occasion upon starting the truck puts out warm humid air. Then while driving (30-40 miles) it would kick on and start blowing cold air again. Then after about 8 to 12 times of driving the truck, When I get in start its back to warm air again.
Always happens after I turn the truck completely off at a store or next morning to go to work.
Well this time I think the actuator finally gave up the ghost. It seems to keep blowing warm humid air. Almost seems like blend door/actuator died mid way to closing off heater core portion.
I see there are 3 actuators in total on the hvac box. One on the side, one on top between heater core lines. Then there is one on the bottom just above passenger side footwell.
I do not have a scan tool, so I have to test/inspect the old fashioned way. Become a human pretzel, remove the actuators one at a time. Start truck, change settings and see if they rotate/work. Will also make sure the doors are not jammed up.
Can anyone tell me which one is the actual blend door.
The actuators mounted top and bottom appear to be close proximity in a vertical line.
