So they aren't that good I hear. Hemi was better wasn't it? Cranking out 400+ or 500+ horsepower from a 3 liter six creates lots of heat. Who here has ever, ever heard of a 5.7 or 6.4 hemi overheating from a heavy load? Never. Hemis had 2 issues the exhaust manifold bolts and lifter failure if you idled it, for hours and hours. But you could put a beating on a hemi day in and day out. Not this Hurricane.

TFL did a stress test with a SO Hurricane towing a load up a hill in high beat and it did great. Better than any other truck they tested.

The Hurricane has been good from what I've seen. There are some software glitches causing issues, but few issues with the engine itself.

I thought it overheated during one of TFLTs tests?

And IIRC, someone on here yesterday said they wanted to tear his Hurricane down over the CEL issue...

Multitude of videos showing hurricanes towing, not one had an issue towing.

Just, go to YouTube and look :)

The issue was a low oil pressure warning on the DIC from the heat-soaked engine. TFL recently posted a video discussing the issue with a Hurricane engineer explaining the cause of the warning and the fix. It was a simple calibration correction they missed in their initial testing which has also been corrected.

Thanks, but the Hurricane in the Wagnoneer isn't equal to that in the Ram.

Are Wagoneers throwing CELs like Rams are?

One thing Jeep/Wagoneer did I thought was smart....first 5 oil changes are free at the dealer so forces everyone back to the dealer so the dealer can see/report issues faster.

I don't know if the 2025 RAM comes with free oil changes but seems like this should be a standard for all new generation vehicles.

I'll ask again...

The answer is, they are not! Stellantis got something wrong with the Hurricane in the Ram and have yet to come up with a resolution...
The only issue in the RAMs is a known software issue. It's not an issue with the engine. It's the exact same engine.

We have the HO Huricain in our GW and its been fine, that said the coolant pump for the intercooler was having some interment issues and threw some internal codes, so the dealer is replacing it.

No overheating issues, CEL, etc it been really good.

Are we sure it's the hurricane? I seem to have been hearing about CEL issues with the 2025 Pentastar as well.

Hence why I posted Rams as well and this is more likely a software problem than an engineering concern.

Has Stellantis stated anything about the misfiring issues being a software related issue or is this just something everyone’s “assuming”.

Be it as it may, Stellantis still doesn't have a fix for it.

Yes, they haven't released an update yet though

I've not yet seen any evidence the Hemi is better than the Hurricane. They may have some software/tuning issues with the new Hurricane Rams, but I believe it's exactly the same engine that has been pretty reliable in the Wagoneer for several years now.

As far as the 5.7 overheating there was a recent thread on here about people changing to 180 degree thermostats because they felt their Hemi got too hot while towing. I suspect the source of you hearing "they aren't that good" was nothing but biased opinion with no real support.
