My 2025 1500 Big Horn is being bought back by Stellantis for 1001 electrical issues. One of the things I never addressed, coolant is disappearing from the reservoirs, with no obvious external leak. I have had to top off both the main reservoir and the turbo reservoir 3 times over the 8500 miles I've had it. 3/24 build date. Surrender of the truck is imminent, so I have no plans to address the issue.
I have already purchased the replacement truck, a 2025 1500 Laramie with a 1/25 build date. Right out of the gate, the water pump was leaking. Though there was some drama getting the part because of backorder, it's now been fixed and there are no external leaks. It's been about 100 miles since the water pump change, and I did see a slight drop in coolant level (about 1/16"), but I presume there was likely still some small amounts of air still being expelled. It's probably fine, but I am paranoid about it. Yes, it was checked absolutely cold and in the same, level spot of my garage.
In my experience, unexplained coolant loss is not "normal," though it is common with some models. What are you guys seeing?
