Hub rings

Who uses hub rings on their wheels? The wheels I'm looking at have a hub bore of 106 and are lug-centric, but they do offer hub rings. Are they necessary?

I always use them but my tireshops say its unnecessary how they mount it.

I use them as well. Just make sure to get metal, not plastic.

38k miles of abuse without the rings and it's fine
include maybe 10-15k or so of offroad miles

I have them, but they are plastic…. Should I replace? May have 5-6k on the new tires and wheels.

I’ve never used them on big bore wheels since 1990; they’re not necessary.
