Any way to tell which you have without any documentation to go on, but simply looking at the truck? Dealer (Carmax) didn't know.

Have you got a VIN? If so, plug-in the VIN at the end of this URL. That’ll pull up the window sticker, which lists the axle ratio.

If you don’t have a VIN, I think it’s there’s a label near the diff cover, but surely the dealer must have the VIN.

jimothy, you rock! Yup that works perfectly! 3.21. And for giggles, I went under the truck to look at the diff cover. On the diff, the side facing towards the engine, I could make out a white sticker and bar code, with 3.21 just barely visible.

The 3.92 trucks usually have a “cash grass or ***” sticker in the windows. And/or brass nuts having from the tow hitch.


But yeah vin decoder usually works best.
