Bought my 19 ram used with 10 thousand miles on it glove box was all scratched up.

I purcahsed a new one but i'm not sure how to unhook it.

There appears to be tabs in the back that can be pushed in but im worried ill break the plastic.

Do a search here for how to replace your cabin air filter. Several threads on how to remove it.

Follow the info in this thread. Following the manual's direction did not work at all for me (not even close) and I almost believe it was intentional on FCA's part for you to have the cabin air filter changed at the dealer. If the vehicle has 5-6000 miles and the filter has not been changed you might want to pick one up while you have the door off. My filter was way over due at 14,000.

Thanks guys I managed to buy a new cabin air filter and replace the door. Didn't think to search cabin air filter.
My only sticking point now is im not sure how to change the lock cylinder from my old door to my new door.

Well I got it done I don’t think Ram ever intended for you to switch the lock cylinders seems to be designed as a one time fit once the cylinder is locked in. I had to destroy my old glove box. As the scews are located under the plastic front cover.

Did the new box come complete so all you had to do was swap the lock cylinder? How easy was it to put the lock cylinder into the new glove box door?

Putting the lock cylinder into the new glove box was a breeze just stick it in turn the cylinder and it’s locked in for good basically plastic clips it in place

Great thanks. I’m trying to figure out how to get the cylinder out without taking the box apart. I has to be able to come out from the front. There must be a reversal to the installation process.

A little late for your but a friend of mine who has some locksmithing background found some info on how to remove the lock cylinder without taking the box apart. It comes out from the front with little effort.

I've never done it as I ended up not replacing my glove box. I'll reach out to my friend to see if he has the info.

Here's what my friend sent me. Removal and install instructions. I apologize if the images are out of order. You can figure it out by looking at the pics. Maybe download and print out. Hope it helps.
