How to remove back wall carpet (road noise coming from rear cab)?

What is the module with a white arrow on it bellow the rear window motor and behind the seat belt retractor? Mine is not even attached to the backwall. Complete loose no fastener. Its only hanging there by the stiffness attached to both ends. I think I've found the rattle that I have on my laramie.
If it's the one with the red connector, it would be the Radio Frequency Receiver module.

Best regards,
Dusty

geez..I must have got lucky, this thing is the quietest vehicle I have ever owned, or been in..no matter what speed. Hope those with wind noise get it figured out.

Thanks Dusty!
My pleasure. Let us know how things work out for you.

Having my truck since October, I dont think there was anything wrong with it. It sounded louder (I believe) by comparison 2 my last 2 trucks which had dynomat and mass loaded vinyl in the doors, back wall and carpet. Ill add some to the doors here for an even quieter ride.

So I did the polyfill and Dynamat behind the sub box. Still not perfect, but a big improvement. There’s something I can’t fix. The fabric behind the rear seat are attached in the bottom by a plastic J trim. Mine is tight until I fold back the seat to his original place. It them becomes loose. The sub makes that fabric vibrate and the plastic J trim hit the sub boxes. Any one have a solution?

While looking for a new truck for my son I happen to notice a Ram 5500 sitting in the lot. These trucks come as chassis cabs so there isn't a box installed. What stood out was the presence of a cover that I know is not included on Ram models shipped with a factory box. These trucks will have the rear cab bulkhead fully exposed to the elements and I suspect the cover is there to prevent water from gaining access to the back seat and floor. But I did wonder have they also serve to reduce outdoor noise from coming into the cab.

Dusty

There are probably thin rubber flaps underneath that stay closed unless pressure inside the cab increases due to door closing, HVAC operation and/or airbag deployment.
The 1500’s have 2 small vents on the rear cab wall that do the same thing.
