I read that the average Tacoma owner spends $10k on mods.....made me wonder about us. Added all mine up and I’m at ....

$8218.51. Adds up fast!

edited to add my breakdown

What all have you done? Not sure of the total on mine at the moment. Would need to look at my receipts. But so far I’ve added:

Tonneau cover
Spray-in Bedliner
Amp research power running boards
LLumar IRX tint all the way around

I have a 2020 Laramie with ORG. Next thing I’m considering is adding a leveling kit and 33-34” 10 ply all terrains and that may be it for me. Although I’ve considered a magnaflow exhaust as well. I hate how quiet these 5th gens are. I don’t like anything loud, just miss hearing the deep Hemi sound in my 4th gen when you get on the gas.

I'm a little under $1000 after almost 3 months of ownership.

-added passive entry to Bighorn (BTS)
-bedrug bed liner
-graphene ceramic spray "coating", not really a mod, but it was money spent on the truck
-moral patches for seats
-door sill protection

Still planning a Sentry CT tonneau cover (about $1000), but nothing else planned. Lots of things I'd like to do, but most likely I'll just drive it like this for quite a while. Since I have to use my truck for work and personal miles, I hate to dump too much money into the truck just to watch it depreciate from work miles. That keeps me realistic with my mods.

I'm at about $6,250. Been kicking around the idea of getting the Morimoto XB headlights, but am weary based on reviews. Really would like to do a longhorn/limited headlight/grille swap and paint the grille to match (since I've got the sport appearance package), but not sure if I want to dump that kind of money into it.

That sounds expensive.... Do you know what that would cost?

Whatever headlights, grille, and the plastic pieces that go underneath the headlights would run, plus painting stuff since the grille surround on the longhorn/limited don't come in Ivory Tri-Coat (just black or chrome as far as I know). Ideally I'd get all of the pieces from the black appearance package Limited and then have the grille surround and pieces under the headlights painted. A lot of money to spend just to get LED projector headlights.

EDIT: just found the thread where someone else did the Longhorn front end swap on a Laramie... parts alone would run like $2400, plus paint.

I am about $5K right now. Moving over the Nathan Airchime
K5LA Train Train Horns from my 2008 Big Horn, would technically
be another $2K.

I am still debating over a GDI tune @ $1300, and a few small extras.

Truck is already at $71,155 MSRP. I pretty much fully optioned it,
Except for the Sunroof, Ram Boxes, and MFT Tailgate.

Man I don’t wanna do this but I also consider most of my early mods more preventative damage mods and I knew before I even signed the paperwork what I was going to do right away this is just like my last truck except no Amp power steps yet

-$1600 Xpel ppf on the front
-$600 ceramic tint all around included windshield
-$750 Lomax Tonneau cover
-$300 Billsteins 5100 on the front (not installed)

Kind of sad when I maybe 700 miles on it myself over the last 4 months heading to and from another job back home. Threw my sister the keys with only 20 miles on the clock so she could head up north and she knew more about the features of the truck before I did and here I am in Hawaii working while the trucks in Florida lol.

I was literally just thinking about this the other day. Inspired by your breakdown I figured I'd put together mine. All costs in CAD rounded to the nearest $ with tax + shipping (where applicable) included. For owning the truck less than 5 months that's more than I expected (thought) I'd spend on it, and I'm nowhere near done. Imagine adding fuel costs to it 😬

Exhaust and install - $1000
Tonneau and install - $950
Tint - $160
Window visor and install - $150
Mud flaps and install - $250
LED third brake lights and vanity - $140
Mopar slush mats - $140
Winter tires - $600
Screen protector - $30

Almost $3300.

Still have to buy summer tires and potentially rims for probably another $2800. Then want to ceramic coat $600. And have to fix curb dings already - maybe $350-$400. Looking at putco light bar and VLED LPR (400 after install?). I anticipate being in it $9k by the time i am content. Would like to do the leveling links and spacers with control arms but not wanting to void warranty.

$600 for ceramic coat? What product and where? That sounds pretty cheap.
