I found it really odd that it happened after all this time too. I guess it just managed to work itself loose over time. When I realized it was a radiator fan issue with the headlights it helped me connect the dots because I didn’t see how both of those issues could pop up at the exact time like that. Once I realized N08 was the radiator fan fuse I knew that would be the best starting point lol. I’m just so stoked it was a simple and free fix that didn’t hit the wallet!

Yeah, dodged a big one there. I'm currently tracing an electrical issue on my house Half my upstairs lost power. Found on tripped breaker, but it wasn't even the circuit that's missing power right now.

I've got a temporary work around for when we go to bed, since the master bedroom is part of the issue have two light switches upstairs, that are in same box, but separate circuits. So threw a jumper wire in between to get power to our bedroom. I think I found were the problem is, now just to figure out a why.

Maybe you lost a phase in your Main circuit panel? If all circuits on one side are dead, that would indicate a lost phase.

Single phase 120 residential. Have power to two outlets, but nothing past, which includes lights for master bedroom and my sons entire room. Found an open on the hot wire between last outlet with power and next outlet. So feeling I will have to open up the wall to run new romex

Could just be a bad/old receptacle. Maybe the load side terminals are shot? It’s worth swapping out the receptacle before opening the walls. But good luck either way. I enjoy electrical work, but chasing ghosts is not fun.

It's an open on the hot wire between the outlets. Everything is Daisy chained with wire nuts inside the boxes. They arent going through the outlet with the power

He meant a leg of 220V, which is one side of a residential panel, but I got nothing else for ya, sorry. Good luck.

Ahh, yeah, I see that now. But when I said half my upstairs lost power, all the area that lost power was on a single breaker, but the breaker is good, and the first two outlets on the circuit still have power. I found an open on the hot wire between two outlets. It's in the wall somewhere. Not sure why. Only the hot wire in that romex is open. Neutral and ground still have connection.

Already removed that wire from the wire nuts, and have a temporary wire ran it it's place to get me back to full lighting and power

If you have a baseboard between the recepts you can remove it and cut the bottom 3 " off the sheet rock, drill through the studs and fish a new wire in there. You'll have to deal with the bottom plate but half should be covered by underlay, flooring. put the sheet rock back in as filler and replace baseboard. No sheetrock finishing.

Are your plug wire connections to the side screws or the push/quick connect on the back of the plugs? I never recommend the quick connects on back.
I’ve also seen where a screw or nail went through a wire in a wall that eventually arched enough to fail.

The romex wires between outlets are all connected with wire nuts inside the box with a separate wire to each outlet from the wire nuts The outlets are not being used to route power through the boxes.

If a jumper in that double switch gets power to the rest, start there and try to work backwards. If that leg coming into the box is dead, hopefully it feeds up. It may tie to a junction box in the attic. Kind of sucks in the summer.

It almost has to be a loose wire nut connection if it just stopped. Or a squirrel in your attic that now looks like the cat from "Christmas Vacation".

It's really unusual for wire to fail, unless it's been chewed by mice or nicked with a sawzall. You sure you don't have a junction box hid in the wall or attic? It's usually the wire nuts. I hate wire nuts.

Had the same issue at my sons house a few years ago. He wired his master bath and his guest bath lights on the same circuit in that order. His problem ended up being a bad wire nut connection in the master bath switch box feeding the guest bath. It was fine for several year then it wasn't.

And coincidently, just yesterday, my neighbor at the shore had lost power to a section of his house. That issue was a tripped arc fault breaker on the Generac panel that feed that circuit. Reset it and everything is working fine. I don't believe this is your issue but threw it out there.
