Hey all,

Newly purchased used 2019 RAM 1500 Classic Crew Cab Hemi 4x4...

Purchased it knowing it has dents/dings in hood due to hail (surprisingly none on the roof). Not a big issue but would like to get a few opinions on either repairing (DIY kinda repairs) or go ahead and replacing it with a new one..

Lastly, the truck came with the bed divider, but unfortunately I never tested it with the truck key (because I was unaware it had a locking mechanism). So I have a divider that is in a locked position and useless at the moment. Should I: A.) Buy a lock picking set and teach myself OR B.) Take it to a locksmith? Lastly, I’ll have to replace the cylinder eventually, do you know if it’s possible to have a custom cylinder made to the truck key I have now or will I be stuck with a second key in hopes I don’t lose it?

Thanks for your responses!

You can absolutely have the cylinder rekeyed to match your factory key and that would be my recommendation. You don’t need a new cylinder. Any locksmith should be able to put the right pins.

As for the dents, a paintless dent removal professional should be able to give you a quote.
