Hood Lights

Found it. Thinking on upgrading that light to a LED bulb and bammo.gm light.jpg

@th3duke my .02 if your dead set with that pin switch I'd put a thin coat of electrical grease on it after install. Or maybe tap into the existing hood pin switch? I'm not that all excited about an exposed electrical item that isn't somewhat waterproof.

Oh and that 3M adhesive on the LED strip will fail. What I've done when using that LED strip is get a roll of the 3M super heavy duty two sided tape from Home Depot and lay the strip on it and cut back the excess. Also use rubbing alcohol on the mounting points to the truck. That cleans off all the yuk which would wonky up the adhesive stickiness.

Not a bad idea for sure. I was thinking of lubricating it with dielectric grease for the connector part and some lithium grease for the switch part. I've had one of these switches on my 1994 pick-up (now used as my little plow truck) since new - it's used for the remote car starter - and it hasn't failed yet. Hence, the reason I'm recommending that instead of the mercury switch I used in my GMC. I already purchased everything from Amazon so we'll see how it works and report back with some pics, etc...
