Guess since no one has brought it up it must just be me being grumpy! I cannot believe on my 4th Laramie and highest price paid so far, the 19 came with no under the hood light while under there doing stuff! It must have busted the marketing boys budget to add a hood light (:

This has been brought up before on the forum. At first I too was frustrated, but then I realized this is simply a reflection of how times change. The vast majority of owners never need the under hood light. This is not unique to Ram, many manufacturers are eliminating the light, plus, we all have flashlights on our phones now.

Yeah this has been brought up a good amount of times. It's on my agenda to find something that can be easily purchased via Amazon, looks good, functional and can be installed with minimal hassle. Once I can find something that fits the criteria, I'll put up a DIY. Just hang tight with me, I've got a lot on my plate right now especially with putting the final touches on the lift before I gotta get it aligned.

For shame! Putting your wants in front of the needs of @Ramit392 's need to do late night maintenance! For shame!

Thanks for your reply...I had missed it where others were talking about it. For sure will await your update and will look as well to see what I may run across too.(:

Guess If we need to check oil, check any other function in the dark just get our phone out turn it on place up overhead some place and do not forget to get you phone before shutting the hood and taking off.(:

I just noticed mine doesn't have one when looking under the hood in the dark for the first time. Kind of bumbed my 2014 had one.

Haven't purchased a truck yet but I was comparing to the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 and it too does NOT have a light under the hood.

This is the manufactures way of telling you, you don't own a 20 thousand dollar computer for diagnostics and have no business under the hood.

I just plan on doing the same thing I had to do on my 2017 Sierra.

Install one of these little mercury tilt switch with a nice light IP68 LED - cheap and does the job just fine.

Dude you just opened up the way way way way >>>way<<< back machine. So my pops had a 94 Silverado and I remember that they had essentially a box with a removable small light and wheel to crank it back into the box. BRB gonna go search for one.
