Hood Inserts

Hello,
Has anyone attempted to replace the 1500/Hemi chrome hood inserts with all black ones?
How hard are these inserts to remove? Any tips on getting them out?

I've done it. Very easy, just use a plastic tool (trim removal tool works great) and get behind a corner and pry up tab at a time.

If you look at pictures of the back of the insert you can see where the tabs are and how they lock into the hood.

I have the black inserts and then put the red stickers on.

Yep I replaced them alright ... gone. Bug eyed things anyway.
Slipped a piece of black sheet metal in I carved out if the side of a microwave. Then two layers of stainless steel screen and some light gray door edge trim off eBay
