Hidden lever

Ok, went to hook up hypertech model # 752504 to correct speedometer because of larger tires. Piece of cake with hypertech device. While trying to find green terminal block to plug in the calibration device I found this compartment under the parking brake switch. Inside is a pull lever connected to a orange strap. The lever pulls a cable through the firewall. Ok I pulled and pushed the lever. What's it do. The passenger seat stayed in place and no parachute shot out the back. I sure missed the reference in the manual.

That's the manual release for the transmission. If your battery ever dies or you can't get it out of gear then you pull the strap.

Hmmm, pretty sure thats the release for the electronic parking brake not the transmission.

Dang. I guess either or situation dictates the solution

Some models have the release in a different panel, but purpose is the same.
