So it seems after the pickup has warmed up and you come to a complete stop "E.g Stopsign" and go to accelerate there is a hesitation "maybe .5 sec" with a sudden jerk and your off. This does not seem proper and is quite annoying and embarrassing for a pickup with 20k on it. is this normal with these 8 speeds or do i need to take it in?

TIA!

Hi @upwindstorm & @fflis,

If after further suggestion from fellow forum members you decide to address this with your dealer, we are more than happy to connect you with a specialist for an additional layer of support for your service visit. Our team is always a PM away.

I have recently noticed this on mine and I only have 11k on truck. I’ve only noticed it a few times but it’s a few times to many.

Hi @Zanshin22 - If you decide to address this with your Ram dealer at any point, our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf for further support through that process.

I have noticed the same...seems to have gotten worse with the recent software update on this truck. Feels like lag in the electronic gas pedal, I've had other vehicles like this and the most annoying was a manual trans VW with unpredictable throttle lag. Drive by wire design seems to be not as crisp as it was when new.

I regret to hear this update, @Thunder77. Please be sure to follow up with me via PM if this is something you move forward with your dealer on.

You can recalibrate the throttle and that might help. I use Edge Pulsar to get rid of it, and there are several others out that help to get rid of it. It's a drive by wire/computer programming issue that many newer autos have.

I have the same issue. Bought mine used at 22000 miles and the same truck as yours except just bighorn. Its so aggravating.

Same issue of course dealership “could not duplicate performing as expected”.

Same issue with my 2019 Laramie, started at about 27,000 miles.. Come to a full stop and I get a slight hesitation/jerk. Rest of the gears are smooth, only happens from a full stop. Plan on taking it in next week.

The dealership will tell you that "that's just the way these things are" or that it's "normal operation".

I have that hesitation if I'm only stopped for a moment or if I'm just about to stop (my truck stays in 3rd until I'm just about stopped).

Somewhere else on this forum someone posted a way the "reset" your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). I don't remember who posted it first but I can't take credit for this:

Get in your truck, shut the door, and don't touch anything else while you do this:

1. Push the start button twice to RUN (do NOT start the truck).

2. Slowly depress the gas pedal to the floor and slowly release (should take you about 10-15 seconds).

3. Push the start button once to OFF.

4. Open your door to turn off your accessories/circuits.

Doing this solved 80% of my issue. It's not a complete fix but at least it's free.

Unless a software update comes out this is about as good as it's going to get IMO.

One of the reasons I got the Pulsar. Little expensive , but cured it.

Well the hang bearing was busted so they replaced the drive shaft. New problem is the nuts to attach the bearing were not tight, so now I'm sitting in a parking lot because the drive shaft is hanging 4" off the ground

Im having a very similar issue. Seems to happen after a cold start for me. I’ll creep out of my driveway and when I hit the gas it hesitates and feels bogged down, then it will randomly launch. Almost got into an accident twice because of it and when I took it to the dealership they couldn’t duplicate it and since there were no codes coming up they told me to come pick it up.
I just dropped it off at another dealership today to see if they can figure something out over the next few days.

midd yiu have any luck with finding anything out?
