I know there are a million discussions online, including many on this forum about these issues. What I haven't seen is if the gen5 trucks have them?

I am considering leasing instead of buying if these are still problems.

From what I have read so far... the manifolds are still an issue. I haven’t seen or heard enough about the lifters on the 5th gen to comment yet.

It would be too early to tell if 5th gens are affected with broken exhaust manifold studs, but there have been three exhaust gasket and two stud/nut revisions since 2013. I have not heard of any failures 2016, maybe even 2015s, and up. The last time I asked my tech. about this issue he said they haven't seen many in quite awhile.

Best regards,

The manifolds and studs are still an issue, and the manifolds themselves tend to crack on the 5th gen’s. It is not a difficult repair and should not stop you from owning one.

The cam/lifter issue tends to show up at high mileage so it is too soon to say if the 5th gen’s are affected.
