Accidentally melted a quarter size area on a black plastic piece of trim. It’s not really melted but the texture is gone. Any solution besides replacement?
Appreciate the help!!

Call a few car dealers. Big ones.

When I wrenched on Toyotas, I had a small mishap once and gouged some plastic on a dash. I 'fessed up to the Service Writer and he was cool about it. He said he'd take care of it. There was a guy doing used car detailing in another building who had some kind of kit to melt and retexture things. I snuck a look a couple hours later when I saw the car back in the finished line and I honestly could not see where it had been fixed. And I knew exactly where to look. So spend a few minutes on the phone.

Thanks a bunch, I greatly appreciate the response. I worry exterior trim is different especially in sunlight.

What are you talking about? What plastic trim?
On the bumper? These pieces usually cost $15-30 to replace..
