Hello, New to the forum from Eastern Maine

Well I guess NYS/NYC is up front. We have income tax on both state and CITY. Real estate tax and water was cheaper than surrounding areas because of the city income tax but mini mike took care of that as soon as he came into office and just continues with dumblasio. Real estate tax was 2700 a year before mini mike and now I am missing $8,000 by a few bucks and dumblasio has a year to go so he has the potential to triple my real estate taxes in 20 years. Now if only my salary could do that. Works out to 5.8%+ per year for the last 19.

$2700 in 2001 has the same purchasing power as $4,010.42 in 2020.
The total inflation rate from 2001 to 2020 is 48.53410%.
The average inflation rate from 2001 to 2020 is 2.10417%.

The politicians are fantastic though in MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) hidden taxes. Great if you use the subway or bus, no help if you cross bridges (Verrazano is $19 with no EZ Pass). I believe my phone bill is 40% taxes or close to it.

I have family in central NJ about 1hr from NYC and 45mins from Phili. It's just nuts and so expensive down there. I can't believe folks chose to live in NJ and commute into the City.
Talk about getting screwed! But I guess it beats living in a closet. I'm curious to see how the housing and rental market adjusted in NYC due to Covid; see if folks decide to just get away and live in more rural areas which could change up the supply/demand game a bit. Doubt it but you never know. - Paul G.

What's up! I'm from Southern NH. (In Vegas now though). Personally I wouldn't bother adding the Nav for that price, especially since what you have comes with Android Auto which is actually more accurate and up to date more often than the in-vehicle Nav systems.
Yes, we are not adding NAV. I loaded up one of my kids old cracked Samsung galaxy with no service and downloaded all the sat maps for Maine from google . It Works great, fast And all the addresses are there. No need to add Nav at this point. Unfortunately the Mrs is not cell phone friendly but google makes it work just like OEM NAV and controls through the knobs too. I just detailed it today. It seems to turn a lot of heads around town. Must be the high gloss or just the Night Edition Style. Plus it shines like a new penny. I have not seen another local RAM like mine so far. If Anyone’s looking, a seller on eBay has the RAM OEM all weather crew mats for $78 a full set with free shipping. My rear fender liners arrive this week too. Next weekend may be busy.

I’m interested in the mats. Would you mind sending me a link?

@nburd think I figured it out. Just ordered. I swore I wouldn’t buy anything until I took delivery of the truck. O well!

Night edition is nice! Wouldn't want black out here though...too hot. But that's good you figured out the Nav thing, glad I had some useful input lol. Did ya end up with a bed liner and all that?

Not yet. I have not decided. Mat, rug, plastic liner or linex. My last ram had just a rubber mat and stayed pretty clean. I am leaning towards the Berliner for $150 and free shipping, about $30 more than a mat. I will have to cut out the light holes.

Cool. I liked the looks of them in the North Edition. Mine arrive tomorrow. Cheaper than weathertechs and a nice Ram emblem on them. I hear you about preordering stuff. I almost ordered them before I bought the truck. I held off and ordered them right after I left the lot of the dealer. I had to wait 4 days for the truck and did not think I would survive It. You have to wait a month or more....that must be unbearable. A friend ordered the new a bronco and he is waiting until July of 2021!

My buddy ordered a new Bronco too. I ordered my truck on 6/17. Its in transit now. Won’t be able to get to the dealership until 8/10. But that’s ok. I have a Mazda MX5 convertible to cruise around in while I wait. Just needed the truck by this winter.

Do you plan to do any oil undercoating or treatment for your truck?
I've been looking into that stuff now. It’s not too expensive which makes me think it might be worth it to do every year ($180ish)

Yea cutouts are a normal thing. Dualliner is pretty decent. I ended up going the DIY route...did the Herculiner myself for about $100. I don't recommend it lmao. It came out ok but it was a PAIN to do.

Yes I do. I have all the fluid film tools. Debating fluid film, wool wax vs “nh” mineral oil based stuff. It has no odor I guess and comes in black when things start to look crusty. I may go that route but will decide in the next month or so. I also want to hit my 250k Burb before I sell it for some extra value and my sons Warlock and other sons F150 I bought down south. It looks like ram has done a lot to curtail corrosion. But rockers and bedsides need to be coated on the inside for sure as insurance. Also the backsides Iof the bumpers is essential. I would like to try and keep the rear end looking black too. I coated my 13 with FF and it looked great until my lease ran out. Whoever got it after I turned it in got zero rust , full FF in and out and painted driveshafts courtesy of me.

I found my tire issue today. The factory forgot to balance The right front tire. I had them all redone and now it is smooth as can be. Looking under it it’s nice to see coated rotors, zinc calipers and some type of

The balancer would not let me go under it to take more pics. I like to know my vehicles in and out/underneath.

I've been researching and am leaning towards the NHOU. They have two options.

1. The Boss Wax & Oil (for doors and internal areas they cant do wax): $800 but lifetime warranty. Need to bring it in every 2 yrs do do the oil again and touch up any wax.
2. The Oil Undercoating only: $180 and bring it in yearly.

I'm leaning towards #2. I'll probably keep the truck 10 years max, and I am not driving as much in the winter now since I work from home.
Seems crazy to me to pay for 4.5 years of option 2 right away if selecting option #1 with a new vehicle ($800/$180).

The other option is Krown which is similar to #2 above and about $150, but the person I spoke with said 2x per year. After watching this video I was leaning more towards NHOU:

I agree NHOU is my preference. I will do it myself as it’s only $50/gallon and that does 3-4 vehicles. Also my gravel driveway will like it.
