Hello. I bought a Dorman 628-040 seat heater (628-040). I only want the lower back, I don’t want to warm the gluteus maximus. It comes w/a nice switch and wiring kit (w/fuse & relay). Which terminal should I hook it up for ignition-power?
thank you!

Thank you Richard320. That sent me to lots of reading. Would you consider the piggyback fuse and fuse 54B a good choice?
thank you

Which one of these is better? The seat’s wiring already has a fuse.
thank you.

Actually they look the same, like both take a fuse.

I don’t know. I have never actually heard the term “trigger feed” before. I will look at the instructions. I might post some photos.

Hey, thank you again for the help Richard320!

There's probably an official term, but I have always referred to the wire to the relay coil as the trigger, and the one that feeds the contacts is the load.

I think they may call it the signal.

Whatever the test light/voltmeter says. If you pull the two-legged fuse, you will see three terminals. One outer will be run, the other hot all the time. The center one goes to the 12V power port. So figure out which is which, plug in that piggyback tap, and plug the fuse in. Then go on with the rest.

Hello again Richard. I did all the seat stuff today. The 54B is plugg and working. Seat heater is hot. I don’t like the electrical connection I made. I couldn’t get the tap-in fuse thingy to work nicely. I had to make it narrower. And after doing that the fuse would not slip in with the copper piece wrapped around one end. So I slimmed a male/spade connector and slid it into 54B. 54B lit up my test light on acc only.

is there a plug made to properly slip into 54B that will feel correct and snug?

Thank you!
