I really like the little spotlights that turn on when I’m turning either to the left or to the right. I know there’s a bunch of y’all who can’t stand them… But I’m a huge fan.

The OEM headlights aren’t bad, but they are definitely not great, so I’m looking to get a little bit more light out.

I have traditional bulbs that are higher output than OEM for the high and low beams.

But I also have LED plug and play lights for the high, low, and fog.

I’d like to just put the LEDs in, but my question is will those little spotlights that turn on when I turn go away? Every time I look at the headlights I cannot figure out where that light actually comes from…

The "spotlights" are the fog lights. When they are off, they turn on as you turn the wheel. When they are on, they are just on and don't do that.

I also drive with my fogs on all the time and it still gives me the spotlight effect 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I don't actually like the fog lights being used as spotlights, mainly because everyone thinks one of my lights is broken when I'm turning.

That being said they do work very well, when they're both on there should be no spotlight effect.

Doesn't work that way. Not possible.
Im pretty sure I have it set to turn the fogs on automatically, but perhaps that got disabled when i changed the battery and i didn’t realize it.

But what im going to infer is that the bulb in the fog isnt special..its just what ever the standard bulb is.

Not possible. The feature you are describing is called cornering lamps. They come from the fog lamps, and the cornering feature can only work when the fog lamps are not on.
My fogs are independent of the little spotlights, but come from the same housing.
Same as above, but you might possibly have a different feature that you are seeing because your truck has adaptive headlights. When you turn your steering wheel at certain speeds, the actual low beam headlight projectors swivel in that direction.

Makes sense, the turn spot light isn't by the fogs, but from the headlight bezel themselves with that trim.

The trucks with the fancy "squinty" looking headlights.

That's probably it, thanks!
