Has anyone found a solution that is direct swap out for headlights?

Check out retro shop, they have a harness to do the swap, and you can buy the head lights from them as well. Or you can get them from any wholesaler.

this is a good thread that has some info on both head lights and taillights. I think there's some part numbers in there some where.

Just did the swap to the Mid-Tier Led headlights and utilized the wiring adapter available on Retroshop.

It was pretty straight-forward swap and install. The installation guide they have on their site (with pictures) is one of the best I've seen. Though, I'll admit, those trim pieces below the headlights are a little infuriating to get off...just a little extra patience needed.

Here are some post install pics...

Here's the link to the adapter

Also, here are the part numbers for the Black shrouded Assemblies...don't remember what numbers for the Chrome versions, but when searching the below part numbers, you can usually find the other type.

68316089AG and 68316088AG

If you are talking non OEM, not yet, but potentially next month.

OEM is clearly outlined above, and to me still is a good way to go.

Didn't have these ones yesterday, but here's a few other shots of the black bezel headlights...for anyone torn between the two versions.
