Hazy Windshield.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this. Driving this morning i noticed the windshield was filming over so i gave it a wipe and when sun hit the windshield it cane back.

Ive already tried windshield cleaner.

Ive experienced this years ago with a bad heater core but it doesnt feel “oily”.

Interior detailing chems (and even the plastics they are made of) will often off-gas leaving a stubborn film. You can try spraying some isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber towel to remove it. I have even had reasonable luck in a pinch with a dry microfiber towel; was driving into a sunset and it lit up the haze.

Have also heard the blue paper towels at gas stations will remove it to a degree, I consider them a bit abrasive.

I saw a video of a guy that used Mr Clean Magic Eraser , it looked like it did a really good job . He said it did great but I haven’t tried it myself yet .

I had the same idea, but i asked my detailer friend and he said that it is a micro abrasive and it will scratch the windshield.

If you use store bought they most often use an ion exchanger to treat the water before mixing their chems. So, the cleaner you are using is searching for ions to bond with and it attracts particulate that makes haze. But, the good news is that there is a way to do it that gets rid of streaks and haze. And, this should help.

It just seems odd that i wipe it down with. a microfibre cloth while im driving. But it just comes back a few minutes later. Either there is some residual build up or my towel is dirty.

Try rubbing alcohol and a clean microfiber (or two or three). Try this right after replacing your cabin air filter. And toss any air fresheners. Was the interior detailed recently?

That film is a pain to clean off. It manifests it self every fall when the sun is low.
Tried glass cleaners, microfiber, blue towels, back of my black stallion mechanics gloves seem to work the best.

Invisable Glass Cleaner made by Stoner Co. just flat works. First time you use it you may have to go over the glass 3 or more times before it stops streaking. Then it's very simple.

Another way is to mix 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% water in a quart spray bottle, with about a cap full of no spot car wash soap. Works like a charm too.

Any chance you have a water leaking into the cab somewhere that is causing humidity? Might try sliding your hand under the carpet on both sides front and back to see if the padding is wet.
