Grill Trim Piece - Between Grill and Hood

Anyone know if a 2500/3500 trim piece will fit onto a 1500? Looks to be the same size but I'm not fully sure. Reason being is I've seen some color matched ones from 2500/3500 trucks and I was to replace my chrome one.
