Installed new Green Filter today and removed charcoal insert.

Green filter is similar to a K&N reusable high flow filter. Well reviewed after market filter. Removing the charcoal filter makes the intake less restrictive, it’s added for CARB compliance. If it provides any improvement, can’t speak to proof but I do get fairly good MPG compared to others with the 3.92. If you ever tried moving air through a intake charcoal filter it’s surprisingly restrictive. Cheap mod try if you want I have no complaints.

Just pry it off with a screwdriver, it's held on with plastic rivets. Mine actually just pulled off with a little effort.
