Grab bar handle trim piece loose

Has anybody else seen an issue with the grab bar handles as shown in the attached picture. In my case it's on the rear seat drivers side. I think it's called the "B Pillar" where it's attached.
Anyway, the grab bar is screwed into the frame and there's a little trim piece to cover the screw hole.
The trim piece is loose and won't snap into place firmly. Truck is brand new, only have it a couple weeks.
Took it into dealership and they are going to order a new grab bar, since it's not clear whether the problem is with the cover or with the grab bar itself. Something isn't snapping together properly.

Never had that issue, but it could have been damaged during installation or even after leaving the factory at the dealer side. It's one of thousands of parts made by various vendors, which could have been defective even before installation and just not caught. Maybe it clicked in place when installed, but the clip was cracked and destined to fail early.

Luckily it's a small easy to change item.
