I just saw the latest Getty's Garage video, the 3.5 Ecoboost F150'S are getting GPF's (gasoline particulate filter) for the 2026 models. It seems GM, Ram and Toyota are safe for the 2026 MY, but what about after? It is interesting because the 3.0 Hurricane produces half the emissions that the Hemi does. It looks like turbocharged DI engines are under the microscope.

Probably due to CARB and the 17 states making up over 40% of new vehicle sales.

Yes, the Trump administration revoked CARB's waivers but it doesn't end without going through lawsuits, which can take years. By then, likely a new administration will reverse it anyways, so manufacturers are essentially acting as if CARB's light vehicle rules still apply. The heavy duty truck stuff is another matter.

Since manufacturer's can't afford not to sell to CARB states, they will continue to do what CARB wants as clearly Ford is getting ready to do.

Toyota trucks are getting GPF in their next refresh.
