Got the Dreaded Rear Window Crack/Leak

2019 Tradesman Quad Cab. I bought it used from a Ram dealer, certified used so I'm covered until 100k (in the high 70's currently).
Noticed the crack and leak yesterday after cold and snow.

For those that have dealt with the dealers and got their windows replaced, how long were you without a truck for?

It's not happening, the fix is to seal the window.

I’m currently dealing with it as well. I replaced my 3rd brake light with an after market with a better seal and having my rear glass installed on Monday. In our state we are covered for glass via insurance with zero out of pocket expense. Safelite guarantees their window so if it leaks again which it will because these 5th gen’s suck I will have another one installed. So with me they ended up putting in the wrong glass ( no defroster) because the defroster one is 2.5 months back ordered. Luckily one happened to come into their shop and I got it. It will be installed on Monday. Don’t mess around with the leak! There are some expensive components up against the rear wall. When those get wet your truck shorts out. Also in order to replace the rear glass you need to remove the entire rear interior to do this correctly, I did my own at a friends body shop so these glass guys wouldn’t butcher my plastics or strip bolts. All around nightmare.

Also while you have it apart silicone around those black breather vents. They leak there as well. Permatex is more than enough. Just seal the outer edge so that the rubber flaps still move freely

I believe I have those already. I think they put them in in 2021 and newer.

I took it to my dealer in Butler, Ohio, Weekley CJD and they hooked me up. Third brake light and rear window replaced under what they called “Ram extended warranty”. They always treat me right!

I should have added… they had my truck for a total of three days to replace both issues once the back ordered rear window came in. The rear window came in much quicker than they expected as well! I can’t complain, to this point, all issues with my Ram have been handled professionally and without squabbling over who’s paying for repairs. Both exhaust manifolds have also been replaced(individually at separate times) as well as the door lock actuator on the passenger front door. I think I have a total of $220 in these repair's after 80,000 miles and almost six years of ownership. Again, I can’t complain!
