So the wife and I disagreed on which bumper pull toyhauler we wanted. I wanted to keep the weight down, as I had a 8700 tow weight on my 19 Big Horn. So after we resolved the disagreement and we bought the heavier one that she was in love with, it was pretty heavy for my poor 1500. 1050 tongue weight, 5700 empty weight, it felt really heavy pulling it with the 5.7. I figured once we got both Harleys in it and our stuff, we'd be closer to 7500 pounds or more, and that was just too much for crossing the country. So I traded in my loved 1500 for a 2021 2500 Tradesman with the 6.4L gasser. The dealer gave me $36k on my Big Horn with 26k miles on it, and I got the Tradesman with Level 2 equipment and the Off Road Package (plus bedliner, brake controller, 4.10, and 5th wheel prep) for $50k. I am very happy with the 2500. It doesn't ride like a Cadillac like my 1500 did, but it's a capable beast! Very comfortable and a 17k tow weight! So I want to thank you all for the info you gave me, and to say happy trucking!

right? I'm confused as to why he's leaving this forum unless he thinks it's specifically only for 1500s lol
Well......it is actually specific to 1500's. That's not to say he's not welcome here, because he is :)

HD's have their own forum.

While there's still good company on here he will find more pertinent info at HDRams.com

Well dang. I could of sworn I saw an HD section on this forum, but maybe not. I'm on quite a few different pages and facebook groups lol I just tie them all together. :ROFLMAO:

There is actually a 5th gen HD discussion forum on the main page, but it's closed to any new postings. Maybe that's what you saw.
